Shows the training of naval personnel and explains the logistical need for more ships. Reel 1, Adm. King urges enlistments. Destroyers escort a convoy in the North Atlantic. Shows panoramic views of shipyard activity and recruit instruction in the repair and arming of torpedoes, semaphore operation, wireless receiving and sending, and repair and fitting of naval aircraft. Reel 2, doctors, nurses, and corpsmen receive training at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md. Shows classes in anatomy, first aid and pharmacy. Corpsmen administer blood plasma and sulfa drugs and assist in operations. Shows Adm. Ross T. McIntire, Surgeon General of the Navy.

Ernest Joseph King (23 November 1878 – 25 June 1956) was Commander in Chief, United States Fleet (COMINCH) and Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) during World War II. As COMINCH-CNO, he directed the United States Navy's operations, planning, and administration and was a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
